Procedures Commonly Performed in Body Contouring

Below are the types of procedures that are most commonly performed in Body Contouring.  Depending on your areas of concern, some or all of these procedures may need to be addressed.

Breast Reduction/Lift

A breast reduction can be performed on both female and male patients.  A male breast reduction is called gynocomastia.  A breast lift, also known as a mastopexy, can be performed at the same time as a breast reduction on a female patient.

Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty vs. Panniculectomy

Abdominoplasty is the removal of excess skin and fat from both the middle and lower abdomen, along with tightening of the muscles that make up the abdominal wall.  A panniculectomy is simply the removal of the excess skin (pannus), sometimes referred to as an “apron” that hangs down over the genitals and/or thighs.

Belt Lipectomy

A belt lipectomy is the combination of abdominoplasty and lower thigh lift.  This procedure tightens and sculpts the buttocks, back of the thighs,  inner & outer thighs, hips and abdomen.

Inner and/or Outer Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is the removal of excess skin and fat from either the inner or outer thighs.  For some patients, both inner and outer thighs might need to lifted to get the best results.

Arm Lift or Brachioplasty

Brachioplasty is the removal of excess skin from underarm to elbow.  It also involves reshaping a portion of the upper arm to give it a slimmer, more toned appearance.

Neck Lift

A neck lift or cervicoplasty, is a procedure that tightens the skin and underlying neck muscles and improves the contour of the jawline.
