Reconstructive Breast Surgery
Description:
Two-stage expander to implant reconstruction after nipple-sparing mastectomies
25-year-old female with a prior history of cosmetic breast augmentation and newly diagnosed left breast cancer. She underwent bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies with immediate placement of tissue expanders. At the time of her second stage surgery, expanders were exchanged for 520 cc silicone implants with fat transfer to bilateral breasts. Galaflex mesh was also placed at this time for longevity of lower pole support. After photos taken 4 months after her second stage surgery.
