Reconstructive Breast Surgery
Description:
51-year-old female with a strong family history of breast cancer and a prior breast augmentation procedure. She underwent prophylactic, bilateral skin-sparing mastectomies with removal of her prior implants, latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap reconstruction and placement of tissue expanders. At the time of her second stage surgery, expanders were exchanged for 560 cc silicone implants, autologous fat grafting was performed, and a peri-areolar skin-tightening mastopexy was performed in conjunction with bilateral nipple reconstruction. She also underwent areola restoration using 3D-tattooing techniques. After photos were taken 1 year following her second stage surgery.
